Its the noodle wool and only 20 stitches per row. Knitting up a ball takes around 30min so you can easily get one done in a day. Really had to knit my son something as he cant use a beaded scarf? Well I should say he dosent want one. Sorry about the poor pic quality. My sweet best friend Ellie can often be found sitting on my chair, my bed or just getting right in the middle of things. The other day whilst knitting my dishcloths she decided she wanted to be RIGHT NEXT TO ME. What a wonderful treasure is a pet who loves to be around you. I just dont think she understands shes 25kg and trying to sit on the arm of my chair?Rebecca Dippel Designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09805390004147662205noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315481152631101189.post-44472940302126570712011-03-07T18:47:00.000-08:002011-03-07T18:47:39.426-08:00Margarets Jug Cover

Those who know me are aware that my failing is crochet. So I thought I would give it a go. I had a piece of lace from Nottingham Castile "the Castle of Nottingham was originally built by William the Conqueror in 1068 and this great fortress became the residence of the Norman and Plantagenet Kings. The present Castle with its Italianate style bears no resemblance to the original castle indeed, this has been destroyed and rebuilt several times through the centuries" I picked it up in a secondhand store very cheap. So at Christmas when I was given a nice pack of glass beads I thought of making a jug cover so finally its done and im still not sure how to crochet but I had a go. Thanks to Margaret Harris for the lovley beads.Rebecca Dippel Designshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09805390004147662205noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315481152631101189.post-75335698654265322532011-03-06T19:42:00.000-08:002011-03-06T19:42:25.652-08:00Check out this stunning giveawayCheck out this great giveaway on Vignetteinstitches. My cousins little boyx wanted lunch bags which I made for my 3 treasures last year one down one to go. Aunt needs her curtins hemmed, they are sitting here waiting for me to do. My daughter just decided that she would like some new tshirts so we have the fabric just need more time to make them. This week I have finished a wall hanging, 2 dolls, 1 stitchery, dressed a teddy, made 2 thread keepers, a coffee pot cover and written 5 lots of instructions. I now have to finish 1 sewing box that needs a lid, 1 toy that needs features and legs, my house work washing gardening and find the missing pieces to the spare sewing machine.

Oh and I forgot to mention I need to make more time to pretend im listening while im sewing, finish the charity quilts, finish my website and about 10000000000000000 other things.

The last few years I have done a mystery 12 days of christmas parcel for a special friend and every year I pick someone new to receive one. This year whilst explaining the idea to a dear friend she decided to suprise me with one as well. So this year I sent out two parcels for Marie and Jan who come to our sewing group Marie only sews by hand and Jan who is new to patchwork but seems to be hooked already. I knew it would get you Jan. Both wonderful ladies who have been just wonderful friends. So Maries first gift to me was a santa kit. I spent the day yesterday making it up right away so that it didnt fall into the GET AROUND TO IT LATER pile. The single santa is what I make and the other pic is how the kit was should have been. She knew I could change it. Thanks Marie

I was just amazed at how wonderful and different they all turned out. One of our ladies has a stall at a local market and I was told that on her recent stall she proudly took her Christmas tree as a decoration. Thanks to all the girls for joining in with the project you have all made such wonderful trees. This is a pic of my second one made as a demo for the class which I have already passed onto a friend who LOVES purple even more than I do. Hope you enjoy your tree Marilyn.
